PAR-3D MOTIFS




PAR-3D currently includes motifs for different classes of proteases, glycolytic pathway enzymes and metal-binding sites. Specific residue patterns are used in case of proteases and glycolytic pathway enzymes. However, for prediction of metal-binding sites all the permutations of Asp, Glu, His and Cys residues are searched for. The predicted metal-binding site consists of three or four residues.


The geometry of a) three and b) four residue patterns used for proteases and glycolytic pathway enzymes are shown below. Those for c) triad and d) tetrad metal-binding sites are also shown.
